Dr. Winternitz received his M.D. at the University of Kentucky and is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a Subspecialty Certification in Sports Medicine. He is a member of the CA Industrial Medical Council/QME, and has been a Team Physician and Orthopedic Consultant for several schools including University of Wisconsin, Lacrosse and Davis High School in Davis, CA.
